Augustin Bernal Park - Pleasanton, CA (6-25-2014)

Recently went hiking at Augustin Bernal Park here in Pleasanton, CA because I saw some really nice clouds on the mountain top. I shot some photos on the mountain. The view sure is great from up there! You can see the entire valley! To visit the park, you do have to live in Pleasanton or have someone from Pleasanton take you as driving up to the park involves driving through a small gated community and the guards for the community does check. Sometimes they do allow people from nearby cities to also enter.

Full Resolution Photos and Prints: If you want to see full resolution photos or buy prints of any of the photos you see, they are up on my portfolio for viewing. To view my best Pleasanton, CA photos for 2013 and 2014, use this link. To see all of my 2014 Pleasanton, CA photos, use this link.

Very thick cloud cover at the peak. I shot this photo upwards toward the peak of the mountain.

Half way up the mountain decided to get a shot of the valley with the clouds in the sky.

The clouds on the mountain across from this one looked so amazing I decided to get another shot. Photo shot from same location as above.

At the bottom of the mountain, there wasn't much wind but by the time I got to the top, the wind was blowing very strongly and the clouds were moving at a very fast speed. I decided to turn back and get another photo as the cloud formation has changed in just a few minutes.

Another shot from the peak. I haven't headed this far on the trail before.

Monterey & Big Sur (7/3/2014) - Part 2

I recently took a trip from the SF Bay Area traveling south along the coast visiting Monterey and Big Sur, CA. The photos I took on this trip will be split into 2 parts. Photos will include Monterey, Carmel, and Big Sur, CA and will include places such as Bixby Creek Bridge and Pfeiffer Beach.

Full Resolution Photos and Prints: If you want to see full resolution photos or buy prints of any of the photos you see, they are up on my portfolio for viewing. To view my best Monterey and Big Sur photos for 2014, use this link. To see all of my 2014 Monterey and Big Sur photos photos, use this link.

Parts: 1 | 2 |

The photos for today are from Carmel, Big Sur, and Monterey including photos from Pfeiffer Beach and Bixby Creek Bridge.

Here is a photo of the Bixby Creek Bridge. Technically this bridge is in Carmel, CA, but my GPS coordinates told me it was Monterey (at least on Google Maps), so I will just say it is in Monterey then. :)

Here is a more zoomed out shot of the Bixby Creek Bridge. This bridge is pretty famous and is visited by a lot of people. Just take note if you are going to come to places like this, after you leave the main part of Carmel, CA there is pretty much no more cellphone signal. If you need to talk or text anyone, do that before you enter. :)

Another photo of the Bixby Creek Bridge shot at a slightly different angle with the Pacific Ocean in the shot.

Here is a panorama of the view of Bixby Creek Bridge and the Pacific Ocean from the area. I tried my best to frame the people out of my photos.

Here is a photo of the Bixby Creek Bridge shot right next to it.

Crossed the bridge and decided to take a photo facing back toward the bridge.

Now I get to Big Sur, CA. Here is a long exposure at Pfeiffer Beach.

It is starting to near sunset. Here is another photo shot at Pfeiffer Beach. Shot near where I took the photo above.

A few photos of the sunset scenery at California's coastline on the side of SR-1. The island you see is a Point Sur Historic Park. I would have headed there, but I thought it was the Point Sur Naval Facility until I checked Google Maps. The naval facility is next to this. Next time I'll go there for photos. :) I still think this is located in Carmel, CA but Google Maps insists this is Monterey, so I'll say this is Monterey.

The photos for today are from Castroville, CA, Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey, CA and Carmel, CA.

While on the drive down, I saw these beautiful farms and had to take a photo of them. This is in Castroville, CA.

Here is another photo from the same spot of a slightly different angle. I wanted to cross the road and get a better photo of the farms across the road but there were too many cars for me to do so safely. While there, managed to buy some really sweet strawberries from a farmer selling it by the side of the road. It was delicious. :)

Next stop is Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey, CA. Here are photos of boats docked at the piers.
