Henry Cowell Redwoods SP & Scott Creek Beach (Cellphone Photos)

On the 18th April 2025, my parents and I went for a day trip to Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park in Felton, CA and Scott Creek Beach in Santa Cruz County, CA. I had a great time seeing the giant Coast Redwood Trees (Sequoia sempervirens). While I did bring my mirrorless camera on this trip, I didn't end up using it as the scenes were super contrasted with no clouds in the sky that day (at least in Henry Cowell Redwoods SP, there were clouds at Scott Creek Beach). I took photos with my cellphone. I hope you enjoy viewing my photos!

Message from the Photographer: I went on a few day trips during this previous long weekend (Easter Weekend). My energy has been much less affected recently, however I think Long COVID has shifted into attacking something else. Recently, my brain has been having some issues with forming speech, along with some other weirdness.

Our first stop (our main stop) is Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park in Felton, CA. It was quite warm in the redwood forest that day.

Our last stop for the day was Scott Creek Beach in Santa Cruz County, CA. It was super cold by the beach, but I finally was able to see some clouds in the sky that day. While on the beach, an unexpected high wave came in and soaked my feet. Unfortunately for me, I was wearing hiking shoes that day.

Round Valley Regional Preserve (Cellphone Photos) - Brentwood, CA

Yesterday, on 18 February 2023, my mom and I took a hike and walk in Round Valley Regional Preserve in Brentwood, CA. We saw lots of cows. My original plan was to do a clockwise loop via Hardy Canyon Trail and Miwok Trail, but Hardy Canyon is closed due to the recent rain storms. We ended up doing a counter-clockwise look via Murphy Meadow Trail and Miwok Trail. It seems a park ranger or rancher accidentally chained the pedestrian gate closed on Miwok Trail, so my mom and I ended up having to climb the gate in order to hike back to the parking lot. I only took photos on my cellphones on this walk and hike. I hope you enjoy viewing my photos.

Next are the photos of the pedestrian gate on Miwok Trail that a ranger or rancher most likely accidentally chained closed. It is also the gate my mom and I had to climb to get over in order to hike back to the parking lot. There were no closure signs or anything on the trails we took, so I think this was just an honest mistake by someone.

Message From The Photographer: If you've been following me on social media, you'd know I've been dealing with vision impairment and gradual vision loss since August 2018. The conditions are neurological, so my vision isn't impaired the same amount on a daily basis, but overall it seems to be going down hill. It has slowed down and made taking photos, processing photos, using computers, etc... very challenging and somewhat depressing. Some days it is impossible for me to take photos or process them. I know these photos are from a very long time ago, but I'm only just starting to get around in processing them as I'm only able to work on them at a very slow pace. I hope you can understand, and I hope you enjoy viewing the photos.
