Tomales Point Trail (Cellphone Photos) - Point Reyes National Seashore

On 26 April 2023, my mom and I drove to Point Reyes National Seashore in Marin County, CA to walk and hike along Tomales Point Trail. We saw a ton of Tule Elk (Cervus canadensis nannodes) and wild flowers on the walk and hike. I took photos with my cellphone and mirrorless camera. The photos are split into 5 blog posts (I took most of the photos on my mirrorless camera). I hope you enjoy viewing my photos!

Travel Tip #1: Weather by the coast could be a lot colder than inland. On this trip, it was 77°F (25°C) at Bear Valley Visitor Center, but at the trail head for Tomales Point, it was 55°F (12.8°C) with heavy fog. The fog drifted in and out on our walk and hike. I'm guessing, when the fog cleared, it was around 63°F (17.2°C). The weather forecast for nearby towns (Dillon Beach, Inverness, Bodega Bay) on this day, called for a high of 66°F (18.9°C). Also I got "rained on" a tiny bit when the fog was extremely dense. I've done this trail twice, and I've gotten "rained on" twice. The first time I got "rained on" was quite heavy.

Travel Tip #2: Tomales Point Trail is an out and back trail, and is approximately 9.5 miles (15.3 km) long. If you explore some of the side trails, you can easily reach over 10 miles (16 km). Bring plenty of water as there are no drinking fountains on the trail. You can probably filter water from the lake, but I wouldn't recommend it. You should also pack lunch. The trail took my mom and I 8 hours to complete, which was 3 hours over my original estimate.

These photos were shot on my cellphone. This blog post is going to be somewhat short, because I shot most of the photos on my Olympus mirrorless camera. All of the photos were shot on Tomales Point Trail.

Today I have more pictures from my floating trip in Grand Teton.

As you can see my last post was about Las Vegas... I just came back from Las Vegas... After Yellowstone/Grand Teton pictures, I have a few San Francisco pictures I'm going to post. After that comes my Las Vegas pictures...

我上个文章说我从拉斯维加斯回来了。黄石公园照片放完了我还有一些三藩市的照片。那个放完了就是放我的拉斯维加斯照片了。

Yellowstone/Grand Teton videos are still delayed. I am still having trouble uploading to Youtube. It keeps giving me a failure message every time it reaches 4%. This is not the first time it happened. Hopefully Google will fix this problem soon. It seems to be a bug on Google's servers.

I may end up starting my other photos too, and whenever I can get it uploaded, I'll post it on this blog. Hopefully soon... I don't have that much Yellowstone/Grand Teton pictures left. LOL What is this? Half a year now? XD Yeah... Like I said in the beginning, I took a crap load of pictures. HAHA

I didn't take that much pictures in Las Vegas... I got around 64 pictures? I think... It will still take some time... LOL I have around 40 Yellowstone/Grand Teton pictures left.

Sorry for the delay on the photos. I ran out of storage space for my pictures and had to upgrade which took sometime and I was experiencing some upload problems with Blogger's photo upload. So my posts got delayed quite some time. I was planning on posting these yesterday, but things didn't turn out the way I planned.

我这一次文章上的晚了一点是应为我存照片的空间没了，我买了跟多，然后上载照片的时候出了一些错。我本来这些照片想昨天放到我的博客上的。

If you take a closer look at this picture, I think the deer pooped and I caught a picture of it with the poop still half way in the air. XD Read more on this blog post.

Lots of deers or elk. Not sure which. HAHA

Photography tip: I used a tripod for the deer pictures. They were really far away and I had to zoom a lot. This is an appropriate time to use a tripod.
