CES 2015 - Las Vegas, NV (Part 4)

I went to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, NV this year! There was so much cool electronic gadgets to see. I went on the last two days of the convention (Thursday and Friday). I obviously didn't get through all of the exhibits. I got so carried away looking and playing with the cool electronics, that I forgot to vlog and take photos for a lot of the stuff at the convention. Even with that, I still have a pretty good collection of shots to show you that I took at the convention. I hope you enjoy viewing the photos. The photos will be split into four blog posts. If you haven't watched my vlog yet, you can do so here. In the vlog, you can see some of the products in the photos here in action. Obviously, I can't animate a photo! :)

Full Resolution Photos and Prints: If you want to see full resolution photos of any of the photos here, they are up on my portfolio for viewing. To view my best CES 2015 photos, use this link. To see all of my CES 2015 photos, use this link.

Here is part 4 of the photos from the event. Coming up in this blog post: robotics, toys, and much more!

This is Ollie by Sphero. This is this rugged robotic toy that you can control with a tablet or phone and it can roll around on the ground and do tricks. I took a photo of it because I saw video of it on Youtube before and it looked really cool.

More robotic pet creations. These are dinosaurs and they do move around.

This is the New Matter MOD-t 3D Printer.

Prototype quadcopter model printed using a 3D printer.

A photo of the Prusa i3 3D printer working.

This is called Eve and is made by a company called Elgato. The company is making home sensors to detect open windows, weather conditions, etc...

A photo of a Lamborghini.

A black and white process of the photo above.

Here is a live demo from Mash.Me animation technology. They have a person demoing the technology on the right, with mirrored movements on the on-screen animation on the left.

An app development company IceBreakerQ which according to their online website is an app to help you find people with similar interests. I thought it was a nice costume, so I took a photo.

This is a product called Ring made by Logbar. It is a small electronic ring with a motion sensor. It connects to your phone, so you can be in control of a variety of things (lights at home, TVs, curtains, etc...) with a wave of your finger.

A few photos of Toshiba's communication Android. The humanoid robot has lots of pneumatics and motors inside to mimic human movements and emotions very closely.

This humanoid robot is still in pretty early stages of development. The robot shown here does not interact with the public, does not have artificial intelligence, and only performs a pre-programmed speech.

These are all the photos for today. Please don't forget to share the blog post with your friends and family members! Here is part 3 of the photos from the event. Coming up in this blog post: robotics, toys, and much more!

This is something called the Versaball from a company called Empire Robotics. The robotic gripper arm can pick up a variety of things. Right here, they are demoing a beer-pong game with the robotic arm, except the cups at no beer.

A company called Finsix is trying to make the world's smallest laptop charger. This charger is quite small right? It is very tiny. I can see potential in this product. If it is one thing I hate, is taking along my Chromebook charger because it is too bulky.

A company called MixBin is making one time use portable power banks that comes fully charged and has a shelf life of over 5 years. The company told me they will send me a free sample... If I get one, I'll tell you guys how it goes! The capacity doesn't seem very high though considering how my Nexus 5 have a pretty large capacity battery. I can see some people using this, but for me, I have a rechargeable one I usually keep with me, so I probably wouldn't need one of these.

I think these are robot shaped Bluetooth speakers. Pretty cute. :) Forgot which company this is from though.

A company called Fashion Ware designing clothes with electronics and lights on them. While pretty cool, I am assuming they ran out of female mannequins here? That's what my friend and I joked about. LOL

Black and white process of the photos above.

This company is designing therapeutic robotic pets. The robot does move. Sadly, I forgot to shoot some video of this, however you can see a similar company with the robotic dinosaurs which will be in the next blog post and I did get a short segment of video of that in my vlog

A few more photos of the robotic sea lion.

This is the Otus video conferencing robot. On the demo the robot is hooked up to an iPad. The device can detect the face a person and track it by rotating the platform the tablet is on.

An electronics toy called Cubelets made by a company called Modular Robotics. This toy is somewhat like Lego Mindstorms. You can build using different blocks to make a robot or electronics creation.

Here is another toy designed by Modular Robotics called MOSS. It is similar to the toy above but use ball joints for even more creation possibilities.

A company making robots called UBTech is making these. Right here is a model of their dancing robot, which is more of a toy for entertainment purposes, however the company makes some non-toy type robots. The company has a vacuuming robot, a robot that alerts you in the event of danger such as smoke or carbon monoxide detection, and also an artificial intelligence robot. The company makes multiple types of robots.

This is a robot that automates cleaning out your grill. This robot will run around your grill while it is scrubbing it clean. The product is called the Automatic Grillbot.

These are all the photos for today. I have more CES 2015 photos next time (toys, 3d printers, humanoid robot, etc...). Please don't forget to share the blog post with your friends and family members! I went to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, NV this year! There was so much cool electronic gadgets to see. I went on the last two days of the convention (Thursday and Friday). Parts: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4

Here is part 2 of the photos from the event. Coming up in this blog post: Nikon exhibit, Polaroid exhibit, Canon exhibit, Sony Exhibit, and much more!

Intel exhibit. Long exposure indoors achieved using a Gorillapod Focus.

Next up, the Nikon exhibit. This is where I got that NFC wristband that I showed in my vlog. They were giving them out for the 360° stop motion thing. Nikon had a bunch of cameras set up in a circle, and they took a photo of you when you jumped with all of the cameras at the same time to do a stop motion animation thing. I wanted to get one done, but the line was too long. Either way, I got what I wanted. the NFC wristband is great for unlocking my phone.

Nikon camera demo with live music.

Up next, I went to the Polaroid booth. My friend took a photo of me with one of the cameras.

These cameras have a mini printer on them, so you can print out the photo you just took. Here is a photo of the device printing out a photo of me.

There is a small issue with the printer though. Photo falls out once it is done printing. Polaroid should fix this.

Up next, the Canon exhibit.

Here is a demo of a Canon EOS 1D with Canon EF 200-400mm f/4L IS USM Extender 1.4X Lens.

Next up is the Sony exhibit. This is their thinnest TV. Please note the transparent glass on the left is not the TV. The TV is the thin thing to the right.

Here is another photo of the TV from a slightly different angle.

This is Sony's wireless camera. The "lens" itself is a camera. It can hook up to your phone wirelessly, and it also has a holder on the camera to hold your phone.

I thought this sign was funny. LOL :) There is a reflection of me taking the photo with my Gorillapod Focus

Black and white process of the photo above.

A photo of the Samsung exhibit.

Not sure where this was, but... I thought the deejay looked really cool so I got a portrait shot of him.

Black and white process of the photo above.

Beginning the photos from the 2nd day at CES 2015. This is a product called Mother. It is suppose to be some sort of habit tracker and warning system to alert you when you forgot something. It does something like that. I have to say, this looks like something that is gonna come alive at night and attack me. LOL Nice concept, but maybe fix the design? The whole thing looks a bit creepy.

My friend was interested in the health technology section so I spent some time with him there. Here is some shots of some of the exhibits there.

Here I am at an exhibit for the company Masimo. They had Dotsie Bausch there to promote their product. I think they said she is an Olympic silver medalist and seven time USA cycling national champion. As you can see, I don't know anything about sports, and I am quite the couch potato. My friend wanted to see, so I spent a bit of time there and took some photos. Anyways, I think Masimo was trying to promote their new mini bio-monitor which can detect pulse rate and blood oxygen saturation.

Here is another shot at the Masimo exhibit with Dotsie Bausch.

These are all the photos for today. I have more CES 2015 photos next time (robotics, toys, etc...). Please don't forget to share the blog post with your friends and family members!
