Shoreline Park - Mountain View, CA (Aerial Photography) - 5/26/2016

I've seen some of the aerial photographers around me flying their quadcopters at Shoreline Park in Mountain View, CA and I really enjoyed the scenery there. On May 26, 2016, I decided to take my own DJI Phantom 3 Professional Quadcopter out for a flight in the park. The view of the area from the sky is beautiful! Here are the photos I shot on that aerial photo shoot.

Pleasanton, CA (Aerial Photography) - 5/25/2016

I did a random aerial photo shoot in Pleasanton, CA with my DJI Phantom 3 Professional Quadcopter on May 25, 2016. I was planning an aerial photo shoot the next day in Mountain View, CA (photos from this photo shoot will be coming soon), so I wanted to get a bit more practice flying and test out a few settings before I did that. Here are the aerial photography photos I shot of Pleasanton, CA.

Some of you are asking me what is it like to fly a quadcopter. I have gotten some on social media, so I will answer it here. It is fun to fly a quadcopter. While the tiny camera and tiny sensor in the camera on this quadcopter isn't giving me the best resolution or quality compared to the DSLR photos and videos I'm used to, it is still really amazing to me that I can have a camera on an aircraft taking aerial photos and videos while I control everything and see a live video feed from the camera all while standing on the ground. It is really amazing how far technology has gotten. I fly it for fun, and over time it has really helped me see the world from a different perspective. It is amazing to see the amount of stuff you can't normally see while standing on the ground. Learning to fly this quadcopter has also taught me a lot about flight in general. Before a flight, I have to check wind speed, distances, and all sorts of things. Especially on long flights, I have to factor in flight times, distances, check for potential obstacles through satellite imagery (especially when I plan to fly in areas I'm not familiar with), and other stuff. When you start flying, you really start seeing the world around you in a different way, learn about aerodynamics, and get a ton of practice in mathematics.

San Francisco Pride Celebration/Parade 2016

I went to the San Francisco Pride Celebration and Parade today with a few friends. If you have been following me on social media now, you would know I'm a biologically intersexed individual who identifies as female. So when San Francisco Pride comes along, of course I'd join! Also, it sounded like a really fun event to join with my friends. Unlike two years ago (blog posts here), security is tight this year for celebration due to the recent tragic events in Orlando, Florida. There was a lot of bag restrictions in place so it was too much of a hassle to bring my full photography gear. Not to mention, my DSLR got a really big dust spot on the sensor, so it is off at a camera lab in Berkeley for sensor cleaning this weekend. Instead, I just brought my phone to the parade along with a selfie stick and mini tripod (with phone tripod adapter). I shot photos and videos on this trip. The videos will be up in a vlog next month, but that won't be up for a while. The cellphone photos I shot today are the ones in this blog post. I hope you enjoy.

One of my friends went shopping with me later. Here is a selfie I took at Forever21. I ended up getting this dress because I felt it looked really cute and pretty.

A random photo from my shopping trip. This was shot near Uniqlo. As you can see, the city was crowded from San Francisco Pride Parade and Celebration.
