Fall Creek Unit & Pigeon Point Lighthouse (Part 2) - May 2017 Vlog

The vlog for May 2017 was split into 2 parts. This is part 2. In part 1, I have the video footage of my pet bunny, my new dress, and my new camping gear. You can find that by using the "Previous Vlog" link below.

In this vlog, I take you on my travels during the month of May. During the month, I visited Fall Creek Unit of Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park in California and Pigeon Point Lighthouse along Highway 1 in Pescadero, CA. On my Fall Creek Unit trip, I show you the famous banana slugs of the west coast and the endangered Coast Redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) forests. On my Pigeon Point Lighthouse trip, I show the wonderful wildflowers from the California super bloom along with some scenery of the Pacific Ocean.

New Dress, Photo Trips, Product Haul - December 2016 Vlog (Part 2)

Due the the large amount of vlog video footage for December 2016, I decided to split my video into 2 parts. The bunny videos is in part 1 (use the "Previous Vlog" link below). Trinidad - California's Coast

From 7/17/2013 to 8/2/2013, I took a road trip from the SF Bay Area to Vancouver, BC, Canada. Half of the trip was spent driving up the west coast. On my trip, I visited many famous places such as Seattle, Butchart Gardens, Mount Rainier, and much more. Obviously I got many coastal shots and many places that isn't as famous. The reason I am posting it now is because the high amount of photos I took equaled a high amount of processing time. I took a bit over 2000 photos on the trip. After stitching the panoramas, compositing the HDRs, and picking out photos from the repeats, I have a bit over 1000 photos to show you guys. The photos will be split into parts. I will link you to the previous and next parts on each post just like I did with my Death Valley National Park photos and my Yellowstone/Grand Teton National Park photos. Hope you enjoy viewing this chain of posts!

Today I continue my trip up California's Coast. I have photos from several places in Trinidad, CA along US 101. The photos will include one shot from a rest area on US 101, photos from Big Lagoon County Park, and Freshwater Lagoon.

I think the reason it is called Big Lagoon County Park is because there is a lagoon in the park. Here is the strip of sand that forms the lagoon. On the left is the Pacific Ocean and on the right is the lagoon.

As I learn more RAW photo processing techniques, I get better and better with my results. Recently I went back and redone some of my photos that I felt I didn't adequately process the first time through that was worth reprocessing. I will first start off with photos from my 2013 trip.

Loved the blue sky and the clouds that day. Made for a really nice country scenery. The road you see is SR-140. I took this on my drive to Yosemite National Park from the SF Bay Area.

Another photo on SR-140. Loved the curve in the highway. As you can see, a pro photographer may suddenly slow and pull over with no warning at all. :P So next time you see some douche driving slowly down an empty highway, this could be the reason. LOL

Pier 39 - San Francisco, CA (Part 1)

A while back a few SF Bay Area photographers hosted a photowalk at Baker beach in San Francisco, CA. I am here to show you some of the photos I took from the photowalk. If you visit the beach, please take note that Baker Beach is a nude beach and I did see a few during my walk on the beach. If you feel you may be sensitive to these types of things, take note of that. There are no nude people in my photographs. During this trip to San Francisco, I also visited Pier 39. I will show you the Pier 39 photos later in this chain of posts. If you do visit Pier 39, here is a hint for free 2 hour parking. Head to the end of Kearny Street. :) If you are lucky, there maybe a few spots free.

Today I begin my photos from Pier 39 (and from my walk to there). These photos will include some long exposures, landscape shots, and a few flower and insect photos.

Some flower photos I shot on Kearny Street on my walk to Pier 39. As I said above in my introduction, there are some free 2 hour parking spaces at the end of Kearny Street. This is the first place I go to look for parking when heading to Pier 39.

 Super long exposure at the head of Pier 39. Photo took me 5 minutes and 40 seconds. Used 2 ND filters to achieve blur.

 20 second exposure on Pier 39. ND filter used. 

Photography Tip: Use ND filters to slow down your shutter speed to achieve long exposures even during day time. They are great for blurring out moving things (especially people). Just make sure you get a good brand such as Hoya or B+W as cheaper brands can make your picture blurry, and sometimes may even cause a color cast. The brand I used in these shots are all from Hoya. Also as with all long exposure shots, make sure you have a steady tripod.

Didn't feel like watching magic, but still took a photo. Thought the stance the performer took was nice.  

A photo of Alcatraz Island I shot with my telephoto lens. Lost a lens cap taking this picture, but lucky for me, knock-off ones on Ebay is fairly cheap. XD I put the lens in a Ziplock bag after getting home and got a new lens cap off of Ebay for like $2.

Salt Creek - Death Valley National Park (Part 37)

At the end of November last year (2012), I took a trip to Death Valley National Park. This is the second trip there in my life. The 1st time I went, I was still a little kid, and I didn't start taking photos yet. This time, I have a pro camera and I am ready to shoot the scenery. Death Valley National Park is known for its "out of this world" scenery, UFO sightings, and many other things. The desert is a very mysterious and beautiful place. In this chain of blog posts, I will be showing you mainly photos of Death Valley National Park, but also photos from surrounding areas like The Mojave Desert, Alabama Hills, and Rhyolite Ghost Town. I have picked out over 400 photos from my trip to show you guys and I will be dividing them into many blog posts. Unlike blog  post chains before, I obviously can't put a link of ever blog post on every single blog post, so instead, I will do the same thing I did for my Yellowstone National Park photos before, by sticking a link of the Next and Previous post on each blog post instead.

After my stay at The Atomic Inn (read about my great stay in my previous post) in Beatty, NV, I went ahead and drove back into Death Valley National Park to go see Salt Creek. The photos for today are photos from Salt Creek and some random shots on the side of the road on my way back into the park. I tried to find some Death Valley Pupfish, but I didn't spot any sadly. :( So no Death Valley Pupfish photos...
