Donner Summit Bridge in Truckee, CA (Part 6) - Truckee/Tahoe February 2016

Back in February 2016, I took at trip to Truckee, CA and Lake Tahoe (both California and Nevada side). Most of the photos are of snowy winter scenery. I visited places such as Donner Lake, Tahoe City, Kings Beach, Abandoned Historical Central Pacific Railroad (CPRR) Tunnels, and more. I took many photos and are here to share with you. The photos will be split over several blog posts. If you have been following me on here, you'd know there has been a ton of stuff happening in my life such as my old computer breaking down and health issues I've had to deal with. Today I begin my photos from day 3 of my trip and were taken on 2/21/2016. The photos for today are from the vista point at Donner Summit Bridge, scenery near Donner Summit Bridge, and Donner Summit Bridge itself.

I walked across the road from the vista point and got a photo of the mountain.

I then hiked down to get under Donner Summit Bridge. I saw a few people sledding down there so I guessed it was relatively safe. The hike was not easy. I slipped and fell on my butt several times. Thanks to my years of photography, I have pretty much trained myself to instinctively elevate the camera when I fall so it doesn't hit anything. My tripod and I got pretty wet, but my camera stayed dry. Here is a photo of the bridge.

Lake Tahoe 2011 Part 4 - Including Donner Lake

I recently went to Lake Tahoe for vacation. Took some photos. :) There wasn't a lot of snow this year though. The weather patterns have been really weird recently. Anyways. I hope you enjoy the photos!

Lake Tahoe is a large fresh water lake in the Sierra Nevada of United States. It is located on the state line of California and Nevada. The lake is 1645 feet deep making it the second deepest lake in the USA (#1 is Crater Lake in Oregon). Lake Tahoe is a major tourist attraction in both California and Nevada. It is home to a number of ski resorts, summer recreation areas, and other tourist attractions. The Nevada side also includes high amounts of casinos which also attracts quite some people.

Today's post will be landscapes again. There is only 7 more photos today. LOL I'm trying to evenly distribute the rest of my photos. Anyways, I think the first few photos is of Donner Lake. Not that sure though. XD Seriously Canon, why you didn't give the EOS 7D built-in geo-tagging features?!

This season was so dry. All that snow you see is artificial... This is Soda Springs. They were being very strict on who can get in this year. If you wanted to get in, you have to pay $5. I guess it is so the snow won't melt that fast as this would turn away a lot of people. I didn't go in. LOL Cheap Asian here. :P I took a few photos from outside and left.
