Cowell-Purisima Trail - San Mateo County, CA (Cellphone Photos)

Today, on the 9th February 2025, my parents and I went for on a walk on Cowell-Purisima Trail in San Mateo County, CA (south of Half Moon Bay, CA). The Cowell-Purisima Trail is part of the California Coastal Trail. I saw people post photos of wild mustard flowers blooming and I wanted to see for myself. I took a few photos on the walk using my cellphone. I hope you enjoy viewing my photos!

Message from the Photographer: I am still dealing with long COVID. I have finished processing and sorting the photos from November and December. Once my brain works a bit better, I will start writing the blog posts and posting them. Despite having more energy after being given low dose Naltrexone (experimental use) at the Stanford Long COVID Clinic, it has not touched my brain fog and other symptoms (some symptoms seem to be worse since I am now more active). Work on everything has been slow. The best way I can describe it is my brain works about as well as an Alzheimer's patient, despite me being quite young.

Flowers (Part 2) - Pleasanton, CA

Spring is here, and flowers are blooming, earlier in California compared to the rest of the US due to the higher temperatures this year. I went shooting photos of flowers around Pleasanton, CA on my walks. Here are the photos I've taken on these walks. These photos are shot during March. Baker Beach - San Francisco, CA (Part 2)

A while back a few SF Bay Area photographers hosted a photowalk at Baker beach in San Francisco, CA. I am here to show you some of the photos I took from the photowalk. If you visit the beach, please take note that Baker Beach is a nude beach and I did see a few during my walk on the beach. If you feel you may be sensitive to these types of things, take note of that. There are no nude people in my photographs. During this trip to San Francisco, I also visited Pier 39. I will show you the Pier 39 photos later in this chain of posts. If you do visit Pier 39, here is a hint for free 2 hour parking. Head to the end of Kearny Street. :) If you are lucky, there maybe a few spots free.

Mission Peak in Fremont, CA

A while back, I went for a hike on  Mission Peak in Fremont, CA. I took the Stanford entrance up (if you are from the area, you'd understand). Here are some of the photos I took during the hike. I also did a few GPS logs to test out my new Canon GP-E2 GPS Receiver. If for some reason you want those logs, just email me using the email provided on my About the Photographer page. Here is a macro shot of a flower. I took this photo before I started my climb near the trail head. The photo was shot with help from my Kenko Extension Tubes and my Canon Speedlite 600EX-RT. 

This is a photo shot near the trail head. On my hike up, I mainly focused on landscapes so I used my wide angle lens.

A cow on Mission Peak. There are many cows on Mission Peak. So afterwards, I started heading down. On my way down, I switched over to my telephoto lens for close up shots. 

The 70mm end of my telephoto lens is good for some landscapes too! Here again, is the view down Mission Peak looking at the SF Bay Area. 

I thought the rock formation looked pretty interesting. So here is a photo of it.

There are many squirrels on Mission Peak. Here are photos of one first looking at me, then eating something. 

It is Spring here in the SF Bay Area. Flowers are blooming. Here is a photo of a Bermuda buttercup (Oxalis pes-caprae) and a bug on it.

Flowers from Quarry Lakes Regional Park (Part 1)

It's spring again and flowers are starting to bloom. :) Today I have 13 pictures of flowers from Quarry Lakes Regional Park located in Fremont/Union City, CA. Please enjoy. They are pretty! I will try to get the names of the flowers, but as you guys know, I am no flower expert. No promises. If I got the wrong name, please point it out in the comments.

What I do with these is that I go onto other people's pages of Bay Area flowers and try to match my picture with theirs' to get a name. I am not very good at doing that. XD So I'm sorry about me not knowing the names. Still, please enjoy my beautiful looking pictures.

I'm predicting another 13 pictures for the next post. I may take more. Not sure yet. If I don't take more, there will be 13 more flower pictures next time. :)
