"Interesting" Animal Photos

I'll try to keep things as "clean" as possible for this blog post because I don't want to get in trouble with Blogger/Google. LOL Today, I will be showing you some "interesting" animal photos I've taken so far in the entire time I've been taking photos. You will be finding out what's so "interesting" about these photos in a minute.

Aviary/Elephant/Tiger - Oakland Zoo in Oakland, CA (Part 7)

I know that I am posting these photos a little bit late, but here they are anyways. So last year (12/7/2012), my biology professor took the whole class on a field trip (as one of our labs) to the Oakland Zoo in Oakland, CA to teach us biology. While I was there, I took many photos of the animals and I am here to show you them. I have to say, I am not a big fan of zoos, but it sure is a great place for animal photos! If you love animal photos like me, definitely give your local zoo a visit. All of these photos were shot using my Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM Lens on my Canon EOS 7D.

Message from the Photographer: So far, I have picked out my Yosemite National Park shots I am going to post to my blog. Now all I have left is to process the RAW files. This might still take a while so I will post my other photos while I work on those.

Today, I just have photos of birds, an African Elephant (Loxodonta africana), and a tiger. This is the last post in this chain. I hope you enjoy viewing the photos.

Message from the Photographer: My original plan was to write up a post yesterday, but I was very busy yesterday. Yesterday, I took my last test for this semester in school (yay for break), and then went to a photo walk at Pier 7 in San Francisco at night with some other photographers in the SF Bay Area. I got some pretty good sunset photos and night long exposures near the area. Will post them soon, hopefully. :) So yeah, let's get started with the post for today. It is going to be a pretty long one!

Message from the Photographer: Sorry about not posting recently! I've been busy with school work (end of the semester). Also, I've been really bummed out because my camera sensor has been pretty dirtied up and my rocket air blower and the auto clean function isn't doing anything to the 20-30 dust particles. I probably have to send it into Canon to get it cleaned. Really sad because I was originally planning to go on vacation beginning next week, but I won't have a camera to use if I do. I might have to postpone my trip. :/ It is kind of stressing me out plus my school work so I totally forgot to post.

Today, I just have photos of a turtle, poison dart frogs, some amphibians (not sure what the specific names are), alligators, and Hamadryas Baboons (Papio hamadryas).

Lucky enough to get a photo of 2 poison dart frogs mating. Yay! What a rare sight.

Today, I just have photos of the Griffon Vulture (Gyps fulvus), Aldabra Giant Tortoise (Aldabrachelys gigantea), and Macro Bats.

Photos of the Aldabra Giant Tortoise (Aldabrachelys gigantea). Doesn't look like it is alive does it? That is what I thought until it moved slightly. I thought it was just a model of a tortoise to keep the real one company. Nope, it was the real one.

A photo of a macro bat. Because these animals live in dark areas, the exhibit was very dark so I had to drive my ISO up a lot to get a shot of them. That is the reason why the photo looks grainy.
