Autumn Foliage & Clouds (9-24-2014) - Pleasanton/Sunol (Part 2)

On 9-26-2014, I went on a hiking trip in Augustin Bernal Park in Pleasanton, CA ending the hiking in Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park in Sunol, CA. I hiked a bit further on this trip than my previous trips. The photos from this hiking trip will be split into two parts. In this part, I will be showing you both photos from Augustin Bernal Park and Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park. In this blog post, there will be one scenery photo, and many photos of clouds and autumn foliage.

To visit the part of the park you see in this blog post, you do have to live in Pleasanton or have someone from Pleasanton take you as driving up to the park involves driving through a small gated community and the guards for the community does check. Sometimes they do allow people from nearby cities to also enter. You can also hike in from Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park but be prepared to hike for a very very long time.

Full Resolution Photos and Prints: If you want to see full resolution photos or buy prints of any of the photos you see, they are up on my portfolio for viewing. To view my best Pleasanton, CA photos for 2013 and 2014, use this link. First off is a photo of clouds. This was shot on the peak.

Here is a scenery shot on the peak with clouds.

Another photo of the clouds.

I continue towards the border of Augustin Bernal Park. Here is a photo of autumn foliage and clouds. Approximate GPS location (type into Google) according to the Canon GP-E2 GPS Receiver: 37 37 60 N 121 54 30 W

Now I arrive at Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park in Sunol, CA. Here is a photo of the hiking trail covered in autumn leaves. I'm sure the county have rangers maintaining this road or I bet the main trail would be covered in leaves too. There are sure a lot of leaves on the side of the trail.

You probably guessed this. The next thing I did was get up close to the leaves on the side of the road for a close up shot of the autumn foliage.

Picked another spot where the mix of colors was slightly different and took another close up shot of the autumn foliage.

One last photo of the autumn foliage covered trail in Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park before I headed back and down the mountain.
