Normally people from the SF Bay Area will take Highway 5 down to Los Angeles, but I decided to take the scenic Highway 1 which follows California's coastline since I am a photographer and there are a lot of photography opportunities on that route compared to Highway 5 which runs through the middle of nowhere. The photos for today are continuing on scenery from Highway 1.

Continuing further down SR-1, I took a series of photos as the sunset dipped below the horizon. The next few sunset shots were all shot at the same place on the side of SR-1 in Big Sur, CA.

This is the last photo from day 1. Photo is shot at dusk on the side of SR-1 near Elephant Seal Vista Point in San Simeon, CA. Since it was dark after this, I proceeded to a faster, less winding route as there were no more scenery opportunities.
