Coyote Hills Regional Park - Fremont, CA

From 7/16/2016 to 7/28/2016, I hit up three separate East Bay Regional Parks here in the San Francisco Bay Area. I visited Redwood Regional Park in Oakland, CA, Coyote Hills Regional Park in Fremont, CA, and Lake Chabot Regional Park in Castro Valley, CA. I have an annual pass this year, so I do plan on taking more photography trips to these parks. I want to exercise and get fit so I can do a camping trip up in the Sierras here in California sometime. I've been thinking about a trip like that for a while now. Not to mention, I really need to loose some weight. Enough about me though, I am here to share the photos I took at the parks with you guys. Coyote Hills Regional Park Scenery (Fremont, CA)

Today I have scenery photos from Coyote Hills Regional Park in Fremont, CA. All of the photos for today are taken with my new Canon EOS 5D Mark III. These photos include one HDR composition and some regular scenery shots. I hope you enjoy viewing the photos. If you live in the San Francisco Bay Area, definitely check out Coyote Hills Regional Park. It is a great place for photography, bike riding, walking around, and hiking. There are both walking and hiking trails in the park.

I recently gotten into some 32-bit HDR work. Here is an HDR composition of the walking trail there. Looks really natural doesn't it? I suggest you give 32-bit processing a try. 

Got down low with my tripod but shadow still showed up. :/ I guess it does add a bit to the photo though.

Barn Swallows (Hirundo rustica)

I decided to take some photos of birds in flight at Coyote Hills Regional Park to practice taking photos of fast moving objects. Here are the photos I took. Coyote Hills Regional Park is a East Bay Regional Park located in Fremont, CA. The area is a salt water marsh with a lot of waterfowls and other animals. I sometimes go there because the birds there are easy to spot as there are no tall trees or foliage in the park. The following photos are of the Barn Swallow (Hirundo rustica).

Message From The Photographer: Hello guys, sorry about not posting recently. I have been very busy with school work and haven't had much time to spend on my photos. In fact, these are the last of the photos I have ready to post. The rest of my photos are still in RAW format and I like to do some post processing before I post them. Now that we are done with the bad news, here are some good news. On Friday, from 6 AM to 10 AM PST, there will be a space shuttle fly-over at the NASA Moffet Field near Mountain View, CA. I will be there to take photos of the event. I'm pretty sure this will be pretty cool for many of you guys. If you don't know about this event, you can read about it here. Too lazy to get into the details here on the blog. 😂 I'm a photographer, not an article writer. LOL I will do my best to get the photos processed and up on this blog the same day or the day after. 😁 Alright, enough with the message, let's continue to the photos.

When I shown this photo to my friend, he thought it was a fish... I would have cropped it all the way, but I thought the clouds in the background made a good effect for the photo. 

Photography Tip: For photos of fast moving objects, set your camera on Shutter Priority Mode (Tv) and set your camera to take multiple shots. In Shutter Priority Mode, you set the shutter speed and your camera will set the corresponding aperture to make sure your shot is correctly exposed. If the values flash in your camera, it means correct exposure can not be reached (generally underexposure). To fix the underexposure problem, either slow down your shutter speed or boost the ISO. If your camera offers focus tracking, use that too (it is AI SERVO on Canon cameras). Your first few shots may be blurry, you may only have 1 good shot in hundreds of shots. The thing is practice makes perfect and even professionals will screw up on fast moving objects. The thing to remember is if a shot looks bad, take it and look at it and see how to improve the next time you try to do a similar photo. Photography is hard to master and will take time, sometimes even your entire lifetime! It's not an overnight thing and you shouldn't feel sad over a ruined shot. I'm saying this because I often do get sad over a ruined shot, but the thing is, don't look back the past, just look at how you can do better in the future. This not only applies to photography but to daily life too. :)

Some landscape shots at Coyote Hills. I'm surprised at how much water there was, it was a really dry season this year.

The weird thing about these bird photos, I'm having a really bad auto focus problem with my Canon EOS 7D. About 70% of my photos focus was slightly off, but for some reason, these photos were really sharp. I wonder why... I'm not the only one complaining about this problem either. Seems to be common in Canon's cameras.

It was really dark out, but I borrowed a 580EX II from a friend. The flash was able to light up the scene.

Today I got pictures from the SF (San Francisco) Bay Area. I know I said San Francisco pictures, but when I looked today, I found out half of the pictures is from other places in the bay. ROFL The last 4 pictures is from San Francisco though...

City! 

You can see Alcatraz Island in the far back. To be honest, I don't think the island is really that far off... I wonder why the prisoners that used to be there can't swim back to shore. ROFL

The Golden Gate Bridge. I've seen it so many times, it's like not really new to me. When I first came to America, I was like, "WOW! THAT IS A REALLY COOL BRIDGE!" Now I'm like, "So is there any other bridges? I've seen this one way too many times..." LOL

And about the Yellowstone and Grand Teton videos... I've got 2 videos uploaded, and trying to upload the 3rd one... It keeps failing... What really pissed me off was it reached 100% this morning and it said failed due to unknown error. I was like WTF? IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?! Might take a while... Next time, I'll be posting my Las Vegas pictures.
