HDRs Redone - Death Valley National Park 2012 (Part 3)

I recently went back and redid some of my old HDR compositions into 32-bit ones for a more natural look. 32-bit HDR compositions usually look more natural and gives better color than a 16-bit HDR (which was what I was doing before) so I went ahead and redone all of them. Today, I am here to show you some of the new HDR compositions from my trip to Death Valley National Park in 2012. I took many HDR compositions while in the park so this will only be part 1. Furnace Creek - Death Valley National Park (Part 35)

At the end of November last year (2012), I took a trip to Death Valley National Park. This is the second trip there in my life. The 1st time I went, I was still a little kid, and I didn't start taking photos yet. This time, I have a pro camera and I am ready to shoot the scenery. Death Valley National Park is known for its "out of this world" scenery, UFO sightings, and many other things. The desert is a very mysterious and beautiful place. In this chain of blog posts, I will be showing you mainly photos of Death Valley National Park, but also photos from surrounding areas like The Mojave Desert, Alabama Hills, and Rhyolite Ghost Town. I have picked out over 400 photos from my trip to show you guys and I will be dividing them into many blog posts. Unlike blog  post chains before, I obviously can't put a link of ever blog post on every single blog post, so instead, I will do the same thing I did for my Yellowstone National Park photos before, by sticking a link of the Next and Previous post on each blog post instead.

Today I have some sunset and night photos from Furnace Creek and near Furnace Creek. Most of the photos for today are long exposures. Thought it would be fun to try it out. :) If you plan on doing long exposures, definitely get a steady tripod! You'll need it.

The sun set and it is night in Death Valley National Park. The streaks of light is of cars passing by. Sadly I forgot to factor in the decrease of light so the left side is a bit under exposed.  

I did one more exposure to try to compensate for the decreasing light. Slightly better. :) Pretty much, especially during the sunset or sunrise, it is a lot of trial and error as there is no way to predict. The amount of light is constantly changing!

Coyote Near Furnace Creek - Death Valley National Park (Part 19)

Today, I have photos of a coyote in the park. Here is the story. I was driving from Furnace Creek Visitor Center to Golden Canyon Interpretive Trail when I saw this coyote (all by itself) walking around on and off the road just in that area. A lot of cars stopped and waited for it to get off the road. I also stopped and came out and took some photos of it. It was the only "big" animal I saw and got a photo of in the park. What is weird is I passed by the same place the next day and the coyote was still there. Not sure why... It was walking around very near the Furnace Creek Visitor Center. Is it looking for food there? Not sure. Anyways here are some of the photos I took of it.

It walked by so close part of it got cut off! The photos still turned out okay so I'm showing it here. I took out several which were badly focused and lit.

I think this was one of the best shots of it I got. :) Thanks for looking at my camera coyote!
