Yosemite National Park/Mono Lake (Yosemite Falls Comparison)

Yosemite National Park is a national park located in California that stretches eastern portions of Tuolumne, Mariposa and Madera counties in the central eastern portion of California and covers around 761,268 acres or 3,080.74 km² of land. Yosemite National Park is best known for its waterfalls, deep valleys, grand meadows, giant sequoias, giant wilderness area, and much more. Mono Lake, a salt lake east of Yosemite National Park that is located in Mono County, California, covers a total of 45,133 acres or 182.65 km². The lake is famous for its high salt content and its tufa formations. I have visited both of those areas and are here to show you some of the photos I took at these two places along with some other photos I have taken along the route. Now let's introduce today's photo. That's right, I said photo... Technically it's 3 photos, but I combined them to form one photo. In today's article, I just want to do a comparison of Yosemite Falls between the fall this year, and the fall in 2010. You will be quite surprised at what it looks like. You can click the photo to see it magnified.

Surprising right? There was like no water at all except for a few small drops of water (shown on the left). It was very dry and hot there. The amount of tourists I saw that was in bikinis, bathing suits, and swimming trunks that walked away in disappointment. HAHA For me, it was also kind of a disappointment too. I was able to get photos of the empty waterfall to show you guys, but I really wanted to go in the water to cool down and splash around in. :/ I still remember back in 2010 when I got to walk in the water. It was a really great experience and I really loved it. In fact, I heard people say there is no water from people who visited the park before me, but I didn't expect it to be this dry. I thought there would still be a some left, and in my head, I was picturing like 1/8 the amount of water as before. I really thought there would be a little bit of water to play in, but I was wrong. It was a really dry season sadly.

Shuttle Endeavour Flyover at NASA Moffett Field (Other Event Photos)

On 9-21-2012, the space shuttle Endeavour made its last voyage from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida to Los Angeles, CA where it will rest in the California Science Center museum. The space shuttle was flown attached on top of a Boeing 747 and has made its trip across several famous landmarks all over the United States including the NASA Moffett Field, Monterey Bay, and the Golden Gate Bridge. Endeavour has flown 25 missions, including 12 to help construct and outfit the space station, and logged nearly 123 million miles in flight during 4,671 orbits. It has served us all a very long time and has helped us further understand our unique and mysterious universe. For those who were not lucky enough to get to see it or wish to see it close up and relive the event again, here are the photos I took at the event at NASA Moffett Field near Mountain View, CA. These photos includes photos of the event, the space shuttle itself, the paparazzi groups, and some other stuff. Hope you enjoy viewing the photos! These photos will be split into several parts!

These are the last of my Endeavour Flyover photos, which means the next time I post, it should be on Yosemite. I hope you have enjoyed viewing this chain of photos. Since I do not have much photos from the event left, I just titled this "Other Event Photos" and that is exactly what I will be showing you. 

A random guy at the event. I'm guessing he biked to NASA... He did not know about the photo. I took it with my telephoto lens. Gives the background a nice compression!

Update 8-28-2013: This is a Digger Wasp (Sphex lucae).

Wide angle shot of the viewing area and the people there. Lot's of people at the event! Expected for such a big event. 

I'm guessing that is a water tower. Also the sign on the right says:

And now, that got me thinking... Charge head on... Wouldn't that hurt. LOL
