Po Lin Monastery & Tian Tan Buddha - Hong Kong (Part 4)

In the month of December in 2013, I took a trip to China to visit relatives and to travel places and take photos. On this trip, I visited Jiangsu (江苏), Anhui (安徽), Hong Kong (香港), and Macau (澳门). I took many photos on this trip and I will be splitting them into many parts. I will do my best in these blog post to describe the photos, however due to the lack of map data for China (on Google) and my horrible Chinese, I may not be able to give you too much details on certain things. At the time of visit, the smog in China is very heavy. In many of the photos, you will see what looks to be fog or haze, but it is the smog (pollution) in China. Be warned, that the pollution in China is not at safe levels. I started coughing less than one week into the trip, and I did not recover until the beginning of March this year (2014). Many individuals in China had the same cough I got. If you haven't done so, you can view my vlogs here. I already posted all my vlogs (of the entire trip) on Youtube, but these photos will come out in parts.

Here is Part 4 of Hong Kong, China, S.A.R. (香港特区). This beings my photos from 12/20/2013. I have photos from Po Lin Monastery (宝莲禅寺) and Tian Tan Buddha (天壇大佛) for today.

这是香港第四个部分。我有宝莲禅寺、和天壇大佛。

There were sure a lot of people at the Po Lin Monastery (宝莲禅寺). There were many tourists and worshipers. Decided to stick on an ND filter to do some photos with the people blurred out. On the right is the Tian Tan Buddha (天壇大佛).

Walking into Po Lin Monastery (宝莲禅寺). Ironically a few souvenir stores on the left was selling meat sausages. LOL If you didn't know, most Buddhists are vegetarian. Still using my ND filter to blur out the tourists.

There were many dogs sleeping at Po Lin Monastery (宝莲禅寺) for some reason. Here is a photo of one now. Wild guess that this one is male. :)

Photography Tip: ND filters and long exposures do not always guarantee a clean image! How many tourists are moving, and how many are in one spot taking photos all factors into the final photo. Always shoot multiple and try to select the "cleanest" shot. Or you can use different methods in Photoshop to average the final product for a much cleaner photo. 

The stairs up to the Tian Tan Buddha (天壇大佛). It was a really tiring hike up there.

Now up on the top of the stairs facing down towards Po Lin Monastery (宝莲禅寺). This one is also a long exposure using my ND filter.
