Port Angeles - Washington's Coast

From 7/17/2013 to 8/2/2013, I took a road trip from the SF Bay Area to Vancouver, BC, Canada. Half of the trip was spent driving up the west coast. On my trip, I visited many famous places such as Seattle, Butchart Gardens, Mount Rainier, and much more. Obviously I got many coastal shots and many places that isn't as famous. The reason I am posting it now is because the high amount of photos I took equaled a high amount of processing time. I took a bit over 2000 photos on the trip. After stitching the panoramas, compositing the HDRs, and picking out photos from the repeats, I have a bit over 1000 photos to show you guys. The photos will be split into parts. I will link you to the previous and next parts on each post just like I did with my Death Valley National Park photos and my Yellowstone/Grand Teton National Park photos. Today I continue my photos up north along Washington's coast. Today I have the last photo from day 4. The photos are all from Port Angeles, WA.

Finally I arrive at Port Angeles by sunset. This is my last city in the US for the part of my trip where I headed up north. Here is a photo of the customs and border crossing area for the Black Ball Ferry Line which transports people between Port Angeles, WA and Victoria, BC, Canada. 

Approximate GPS location (type into Google) according to the Canon GP-E2 GPS Receiver: 48 07 15 N 123 25 56 W  

Here are a few more photos of the customs area. Government, if you are looking at this, just trying to document my trip and share it with my followers. Not trying to do anything else. Hope you guys don't suspect me of anything. LOL Just an average tourist photographer traveling up north and back. Now to the rest of my followers, I bet you the NSA and CIA is taking a look at this blog post now (once I post it out that is). XD I get caught up in the media hype way too much...

Alright, near that customs area, I shot a few photos of the sunset and the ocean. 

I zoomed in on that ship because I thought it looks nice.

For dinner, I headed to Michael's Seafood and Steakhouse in Port Angeles. The above photo is of the restaurant. The food was very good! But I think a 2-3 of the mussels in one of my bowls wasn't too fresh. They tasted a little bit weird. Can't blame them though! Those things keep their shell closed even after they die. The rest of it tasted fresh, so I'm pretty sure they are fresh caught, but a few of them just died off in the tank.

A bowl of Petite Oysters On The 1/2 Shell. These were so good... I'm a big fan of raw oysters. All the seafood there was so good...

I forgot what this was called. Anyways, like I said above, 2-3 of the mussels in this didn't taste fresh, but the rest were. I'm pretty sure they are freshly caught, but a few of them were dead. I can understand because it is really hard to tell whether or not they are alive or dead. 

Some fish... This also tasted very good. Also, these photos sure beats the heck out of those Instagram food photos right? XD

My First Fan Mail!

I would like to share photos with you guys of my first fan mail! I actually got this from one of my Google+ followers several month ago on 3/1/2013, but never found a good time to put it up. I figured this would be a great time now to post it up so here it is! Both photos were taken with my Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

So pretty much she lives in Sabah, Malaysia and it was suppose to get here by Chinese New Year, but you know what US Customs is like. XD So it got here a bit late. Also Sunny is a nickname I sometimes use online which is why it says Sunny.

Here is what the letter says:

Dearest Sunny,
Nice to meet you and have you in my circle. We are same race but live in different country. Lol. You take care at USA, and don't for get 华语 [Mandarin, I can read some Chinese], because it is our mother tongue to communicate each other. Keep up the good work in photograph. :)
