Bonny Doon Beach - Santa Cruz, CA

A few month back, I took a trip to Santa Cruz and the near by city of Davenport in California. I went to several beaches there that other photographers have recommended to me! They were sure very beautiful. Here are some of the photos I took there. I went to Shark Fin Cove, Panther Beach, Bonny Doon Beach and the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Some of the photos will be like "mini time lapses". If you wish to view those as a slideshow, just click on any image on this blog post and a slideshow should load.

Full Resolution Photos and Prints: If you want to see full resolution photos or buy prints of any of the photos you see, they are up on my portfolio for viewing. To see my best Santa Cruz photos from this trip, use this link. To see all of my Santa Cruz Photos from this trip, use this link.

Today, I have photos from Bonny Doon Beach located in Santa Cruz, CA. Out of all 4 of the beaches I went to, this one was very easy to access as there were no steep hills you have to climb (well this and the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk). The photos will include regular scenery, HDR, long exposures, and some flower photos.

Railroad tracks near Bonny Doon Beach. This is the same line I showed you the other day. It pretty much runs right next to the highway.
Approximate GPS location (type into Google) according to the Canon GP-E2 GPS Receiver: 36 59 59 N 122 10 46 W

Driftwood in stream of water. A tunnel I will show you near the end of this blog post has a stream of water flowing out of it leading to the ocean. The water sure was cold!

A few long exposures and scenery shots I did while on the beach.

I zoomed in a bit to get rid of the people that were sunbathing on the beach. Not sure why they were sunbathing because there was no sun that day. :P

A few long exposure and scenery shots I did facing the other side.

A regular scenery shot of the beach.

HDR composition of the tunnel I was talking about earlier with the stream of water flowing out of it.

Yellow Sand Verbena (Abronia latifolia

White Water Cress (Nasturtium officinale)

These are all the photos for today. I hope you have enjoyed them. Next time I will have photos from Panther Beach including Hole in the Wall.
