Pescadero, CA (Cellphone Photos)

On the 1st September 2025, my mom and I went to Pescadero, CA for a day trip. I visited Downtown Pescadero, Pescadero Marsh Natural Preserve, and Pebble Beach at Bean Hollow State Park. I took photos with my cellphone. I hope you enjoy viewing my photos!

Message from the Photographer: Unfortunately Long COVID is wrecking havoc on my health and energy levels, and my health is slowly declining. My day trips are far and few in between now.

Flowers Along State Route 1 (Santa Cruz to Pescadero) - Cellphone Photos

On 5 April 2023, my parents and I drove along State Route 1 in search of flower viewing opportunities. We drove from Santa Cruz to Half Moon Bay (the last of my photos are from Pescadero State Beach). I took photos with my cellphones and mirrorless camera. The photos are split into 2 blog posts. I hope you enjoy viewing my photos!

Our third stop on this trip was Pigeon Point Light Station State Historic Park in Pescadero, CA. We saw a huge patch of yellow mustard flowers at the park near Pistachio Beach. I've been looking for a patch like this for a while. It was beautiful!

State Route 1 Day Trip - California (Cellphone Photos)

On 7 September, 2021, I took a day trip with my mom and traveled along California's State Route 1. I went to Pescadero State Beach, Pescadero Marsh, Pistachio Beach, and Pigeon Point Lighthouse. All of the locations are in Pescadero, CA.

I think for a lot of people, the COVID-19 pandemic has caused many to develop new mental health issues, or worsening of mental health issues in people who already have them. For me, I've had worsening PTSD, depression, and anxiety. I've also been having the occasional panic attack from claustrophobia (from being stuck at home), and I suffered from half a year of anorexia (if you followed me on my blog for years, you probably noticed the weight loss). I'm sure a lot of others are in the same boat, and I've heard similar stories from my friends and my peers. Due to COVID-19, my family and I (despite being fully vaccinated) are still too scared to go out and join the crowd this past Labor Day weekend (and I really don't want to get stuck in traffic breathing in exhaust fumes anyways). My mom and I really needed this day trip, and it has definitely made me feel a lot better. We picked the day after Labor Day weekend so there wouldn't be so many people (I had a really bad claustrophobia attack over the long weekend). I want to hear the roar of the ocean to help me relax, and not the chitter chatter of a ton of people (which I'm guessing was the entire San Francisco Bay Area population and beyond) during Labor Day weekend.

Here are the cellphone photos I took on the trip. I also had some fun and had my mom helped me take some photos of me on this trip too.

It was super foggy that day, and very dark which kind of sucked due to my limited vision, but made great lighting for portrait photos of me. Silver lining I guess. 😂 I had to have my white cane with me for pretty much the entire day, and use it to get to and from a beach, in parking lots, and on trails, since my vision is impaired (due to visual snow syndrome and migraines). While I am not fully blind, I am night blind and have trouble getting around in poorly lit conditions. My mom held my white cane when she took photos of me because I hate having to show my white cane in photos. I know some of you may be wondering since you've seen my white cane in previous posts, or through the posts I have on social media.

The fog clear up a bit once my mom and I reached Pigeon Point Lighthouse and Pistachio Beach. It was definitely a lot warmer, but it was still quite windy.
