Event & Scenery - Sycamore Grove Park - Livermore, CA (Cellphone Photos)

Yesterday, on the 1st March 2025, my mom and I went to Sycamore Grove Park in Livermore, CA to attend the talk on bobcats and mountain lions (Cats of Sycamore Grove Park Event) at Wetmore Amphitheatre. We also took a walk in the park afterwards. I took some photos with my cellphone. I hope you enjoy viewing my photos!

First off are the photos from the "Cats of Sycamore Grove Park" event.

A photo of a park ranger giving the talk about cats in Sycamore Grove Park. Also in the photo are a mountain lion taxidermy, bobcat fur, lynx tail, mountain lion scat, and a fake saber toothed tiger skull. The photo was shot at Wetmore Amphitheatre.

Sycamore Grove Park - Livermore, CA (Cellphone Photos)

Today, on the 17th December 2024, my mom and I went for on a walk in Sycamore Grove Park in Livermore, CA. There is still some autumn foliage present despite it being December! I hope you enjoy viewing my photos!

Message from the Photographer: I am still dealing with long COVID, but my doctors and I have found multiple medications that seems to partially and temporarily suppress the symptoms. I am walking a fine line between side effects from the pills and the long COVID symptoms. This was the most exercise I have gotten in months, and I suspect I will be paying for it the next few days. The COVID infection in November 2023 triggered chronic fatigue syndrome and mast cell activation in me. I am working on the RAW photos from my camera, but it has been slow. None of the medications are touching the brain fog.

Summit Tunnel in Truckee, CA (Part 9) - Truckee/Tahoe February 2016

Back in February 2016, I took at trip to Truckee, CA and Lake Tahoe (both California and Nevada side). Most of the photos are of snowy winter scenery. I visited places such as Donner Lake, Tahoe City, Kings Beach, Abandoned Historical Central Pacific Railroad (CPRR) Tunnels, and more. I took many photos and are here to share with you. The photos will be split over several blog posts. If you have been following me on here, you'd know there has been a ton of stuff happening in my life such as my old computer breaking down and health issues I've had to deal with. This delayed my photo processing by a very long time which is why I am only posting them now. I also did vlogs on this trip. If you are interested in viewing them, you can do so here.

The photos for today are from day 3 of my trip and were taken on 2/21/2016. This will be the last of my photos from this trip. The photos for today are from Abandoned Historical Central Pacific Railroad (CPRR) Tunnel #6, also know as Summit Tunnel, and tunnel #7. I shot these photos on my trip back through the tunnels. As mentioned in a previous blog post, there won't be any GPS location data for these photos as I was underground.

A photo of Central Pacific Railroad Tunnel #7 looking through to tunnel #6. As mentioned in a previous blog post, these tunnels are mainly known for the street art on the tunnel walls. Here is a photo of the street art on the walls of tunnel #7.

Icicles on the walls in Central Pacific Railroad Tunnel #6 (aka Summit Tunnel). Photo shot with the help of my Canon Speedlite 600EX-RT.

Here is a photo shot from inside the tunnel #6 facing the entrance. I know I already did this photo earlier in the trip, but I felt I could maybe make a better composition so I shot another photo. I felt it made a pretty cool composition with the icicles and the contrast between light and dark.

A photo of the icicles at the entrance of tunnel #6 shot from the outside. As I have warned you in a previous blog post, please don't stand under these icicles unless you are willing to take the risk of dying! These icicles are constantly falling down and if one fell on you, it will definitely injure or kill you. As a nature photographer, I decided to take a risk. I positioned myself under a few icicles that looked more sturdy and well formed. I also had someone watching the whole time for potential danger too.

A photo of the entrance to Central Pacific Railroad Tunnel #6 (aka Summit Tunnel). You can see how large those icicles are compared to the people inside the tunnel. As I mentioned before, they are huge and potentially dangerous.

The photos for today are from day 3 of my trip and were taken on 2/21/2016. The photos for today are from Donner Pass, China Wall, and Abandoned Historical Central Pacific Railroad (CPRR) Tunnel #7 and #8. It is located at Donner Pass in Truckee, CA. This and the rest of the blog posts will feature photos from these abandoned railroad tunnels.

A photo of China Wall and Central Pacific Railroad Tunnel #8. Due to the time constraints that day, I didn't head into tunnel #8. China Wall is the wall in front of tunnel #8 on the right. The wall is called China Wall because Chinese workers constructed the wall along with most of the Central Pacific Railroad system.
