Point Lobos State Reserve - Carmel, CA

On the 1st November 2024, my parents and I went to Point Lobos State Natural Reserve in Carmel-By-The-Sea, CA for some sightseeing. I didn't take too many photos that day as long COVID was causing major fatigue issues back then. Right now, I have gotten some experimental medication which seems to be helping with energy. I hope you enjoy viewing my photos!

Message from the Photographer: I am so happy to be finally posting my photos from November and December last year! Long COVID has wrecked havoc on my life, but I'm glad I can finally post these photos.

California Quail (Callipepla californica) and Natural Bridge State Beach in Santa Cruz, CA

Today I have photos of the California Quail (Callipepla californica) and photos from Natural Bridge State Beach in Santa Cruz, CA. The photo of the California Quails was taken near the state beach. Also near the state beach (same park) is the Monarch Resting Area which is accessible via a boardwalk. I don't have any photos of it here as I was not in season to see the butterflies, but every year (I forgot when), a huge amount of Monarch butterflies will fly there and rest. It was an amazing scene and I went there once when I was younger. It was beautiful.

Full Resolution Photos and Prints: If you want to see full resolution photos or buy prints of any of the photos you see, they are up on my portfolio for viewing. To see all of the photos from this trip here.

The first 6 photos are all of the California Quail (Callipepla californica).

 Cute bird isn't it?

After they saw me approaching with a camera, they started walking away.

One of them decided to stop and look at me. YAY! :P

These are all the photos for today! I hope you have enjoyed it. You are probably thinking I will start my Death Valley photos next time, but that is not the case. Again, almost 2000 photos will take me quite a while to process! Next time, I will most likely be posting up the photos I took at Wilder Ranch State Park which is also located in Santa Cruz, not so far from Natural Bridge State Beach. Message From The Photographer: So 6 weeks of coughing, and I finally get myself up to go see a doctor. I got some antibiotics and I feel a lot better now. 😀 So I should be able to make more videos now that the cough subsided, and big announcement for you guys. I will head to Death Valley soon and I hope to bring back some great photos for you guys! So make sure you check back soon!

The photos for today was taken on the day of the Blue Angel's airshow. If you want to see those photos, you can do so here. Photos for today include birds, fish, animals, and jellyfishes.

Fish someone caught.

I think this bird might be female. I'm not sure what it is, help me in the comments below if you can!

California Brown Pelican (Pelecanus occidentalis)

This was one aggressive pelican! I tried to give it a pet, and it tried to give me a peck on the face. :/ I backed off immediately. Later, I saw another guy trying to give it a pet, and he actually got a peck on the arm. I later asked him and he said it hurt! ROFL

Sea lion.

Awww it's looking at me. :D

I saw a jellyfish swim up to the surface, so I stole some shots of it before it swam back down.

This is all the photos for today! I have one more post on San Francisco. Next time I have photos of sunsets, Cliff House, and more birds!
