Macro shots of leaves are very cool. The details on the leaf looks like a completely different world.

I shot these photos by back lighting the leaves with my Canon Speedlite 600EX-RT and a softbox.

A macro shot of a red leaf I picked up.
I decided to process the same photo in a more abstract manner. I over-saturated the shot and it gave this "volcano look" that you see in some cartoons.
I also processed the photo in black and white.

The red leaf wasn't so flat, so I switched back to the yellow leaf I was shooting with earlier. Here is a shot of the leaf in vertical layout.
