Photos Redone - Mule Deer (Odocoileus hemionus) - Yosemite National Park

As I learn more RAW photo processing techniques, I get better and better with my results. Recently I went back and redone some of my photos that I felt I didn't adequately process the first time through that was worth reprocessing. Today I am here to show you the new results I have of Mule Deer (Odocoileus hemionus) from Cook's Meadow in Yosemite National Park from my 2013 trip. You can view my original photos and other trip photos here. Also, this will be a very long blog post with 31 images. If you are on a slow internet connection, it might take a while to load. If you wish to view the photos in a slideshow, just click on the first image and a slideshow should load.

Full Resolution Photos and Prints: If you want to see full resolution photos or buy prints of any of the photos you see, they are up on my portfolio for viewing. If you are interested, choose one of the links below:
Important Notice to all individuals planning to visit Yosemite: All National Parks are currently closed due to the ongoing government shut down. You will not be able to visit Yosemite National Park or other national parks as they are closed. Many companies and businesses are offering refunds or reschedules to anyone who reserved in advance. If you have questions about your reservations, you should contact the company and business you reserved with.

The US government is the king for stupid things. Ever heard of the Stargate Project? Apparently during WWII, our government spent $20 million on psychics to predict future events. It was later canceled because it turns out the psychics can't predict accurately. More info on that here. As you can see the US government is ran by a bunch of idiots. I also don't give a **** about who caused this shut down. All I know is that I love National Parks and I love Yosemite National Park, and the people who is running this country is making the citizens and tourists suffer.

I probably did take a bit too much photos of the deer, but I love wildlife.

Photography Tip: Spray and prey is a great method for wildlife shots, but sometimes you do end up taking way too many photos (like I did here). To spray and prey, you want to set your camera up on focus tracking (AI SERVO for Canon cameras) and then put it on continuous shutter. This method can sometimes get you interesting results. Lower down in this blog post, you will see a photo of a deer taking a poop.

This was the photo I was talking about above! If you zoom in, you can see the little drops coming out of the deer's butt. This photo was completely by accident. For the deer shots, I was using continuous shutter so I just held down my shutter button for the camera to go "click click click". Works well for wildlife shots. You never know what will turn up!

These are all the photos for today. I hope you have enjoyed them. Really sad this wonderful  park is closed just because the idiots running this country can't work things out. Please don't forget to share the blog post with your friends and family members!
