U8 Smart Watch Review (Cheap Smart Watch)(Video)

The generic U8 smart watch from China is one of the cheapest smart watches available on the market. Watch my video to find why I found this is also the worst smart watch on the market and why I wouldn't use it.

This video will give you an overview and review of the smartwatch and take you around some of the watch's functions.

Flappy Droid - Getting to Lollipop Easter Egg (Video)

This tutorial will show you how to get to the Android Lollipop Easter Egg. Google decided to incorporate a modified version of Flappy Bird (which we will call Flappy Droid) into the Android Lollipop's Easter Egg. You will also get to see me fail miserably at the game.

Bypass Nexus 6 Data Tether Subscription Check (Video)

Have you tried to turn on your Nexus 6's portable hotspot feature, USB tether, or Bluetooth tether, but it won't turn on because you either don't have a tethering plan, your carrier wants you to purchase a new plan, or your carrier mis-programmed your SIM card? If you have this issue, when you try to turn on data tethering, it will show a notification saying connecting to your carrier, and then after a while it will either tell you your carrier has blocked tethering, it failed to connect to the carrier to check, or a window will pop up asking you to buy a new plan. This video will show you how to bypass the data tethering check on your Nexus 6.

Required:
  • Nexus 6 must be rooted.
  • Have File Manager (LINK) installed.
Tips:
  • It is recommended you make a backup copy of your original "build.prop" file before proceeding in case you mess something up.
  • It is recommended you deselect the option that marks the system partition writable after you finish the modifications.

CES 2015 - Las Vegas, NV (Part 2)

I went to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, NV this year! There was so much cool electronic gadgets to see. I went on the last two days of the convention (Thursday and Friday). I obviously didn't get through all of the exhibits. I got so carried away looking and playing with the cool electronics, that I forgot to vlog and take photos for a lot of the stuff at the convention. Even with that, I still have a pretty good collection of shots to show you that I took at the convention. I hope you enjoy viewing the photos. The photos will be split into four blog posts. If you haven't watched my vlog yet, you can do so here. In the vlog, you can see some of the products in the photos here in action. Obviously, I can't animate a photo! :)

Full Resolution Photos and Prints: If you want to see full resolution photos of any of the photos here, they are up on my portfolio for viewing. To view my best CES 2015 photos, use this link. To see all of my CES 2015 photos, use this link.

Parts: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4

Here is part 2 of the photos from the event. Coming up in this blog post: Nikon exhibit, Polaroid exhibit, Canon exhibit, Sony Exhibit, and much more!

Intel exhibit. Long exposure indoors achieved using a Gorillapod Focus.

Next up, the Nikon exhibit. This is where I got that NFC wristband that I showed in my vlog. They were giving them out for the 360° stop motion thing. Nikon had a bunch of cameras set up in a circle, and they took a photo of you when you jumped with all of the cameras at the same time to do a stop motion animation thing. I wanted to get one done, but the line was too long. Either way, I got what I wanted. the NFC wristband is great for unlocking my phone.

Nikon camera demo with live music.

Up next, I went to the Polaroid booth. My friend took a photo of me with one of the cameras.

These cameras have a mini printer on them, so you can print out the photo you just took. Here is a photo of the device printing out a photo of me.

There is a small issue with the printer though. Photo falls out once it is done printing. Polaroid should fix this.

Up next, the Canon exhibit.

Here is a demo of a Canon EOS 1D with Canon EF 200-400mm f/4L IS USM Extender 1.4X Lens.

Next up is the Sony exhibit. This is their thinnest TV. Please note the transparent glass on the left is not the TV. The TV is the thin thing to the right.

Here is another photo of the TV from a slightly different angle.

This is Sony's wireless camera. The "lens" itself is a camera. It can hook up to your phone wirelessly, and it also has a holder on the camera to hold your phone.

I thought this sign was funny. LOL :) There is a reflection of me taking the photo with my Gorillapod Focus

Black and white process of the photo above.

A photo of the Samsung exhibit.

Not sure where this was, but... I thought the deejay looked really cool so I got a portrait shot of him.

Black and white process of the photo above.

Beginning the photos from the 2nd day at CES 2015. This is a product called Mother. It is suppose to be some sort of habit tracker and warning system to alert you when you forgot something. It does something like that. I have to say, this looks like something that is gonna come alive at night and attack me. LOL Nice concept, but maybe fix the design? The whole thing looks a bit creepy.

My friend was interested in the health technology section so I spent some time with him there. Here is some shots of some of the exhibits there.

Here I am at an exhibit for the company Masimo. They had Dotsie Bausch there to promote their product. I think they said she is an Olympic silver medalist and seven time USA cycling national champion. As you can see, I don't know anything about sports, and I am quite the couch potato. My friend wanted to see, so I spent a bit of time there and took some photos. Anyways, I think Masimo was trying to promote their new mini bio-monitor which can detect pulse rate and blood oxygen saturation.

Here is another shot at the Masimo exhibit with Dotsie Bausch.

These are all the photos for today. I have more CES 2015 photos next time (robotics, toys, etc...). Please don't forget to share the blog post with your friends and family members! Alameda County Fair 2013 (Part 8)

Every year, Alameda County here in California hosts a fair from mid-June to mid-July on the fair grounds in Pleasanton, CA. While I am not a big fan of fair/amusement part rides, I thought it would be a great place for some photography, plus a few of my friends kind of dragged me along (a few of them requested I don't post photos of them online, therefore I took care not to include them in any of my shots). So, here I will be sharing with you the photos I took at the fair. The photos will include the rides and games in the fair, the Freestyle Motorcross, All Alaskan Pig Racing, Model Railroad, and some other stuff. I took a little over 200 photos, and will be splitting them into several parts. I hope you enjoy viewing the photos.

Full Resolution Photos and Prints: If you want to see full resolution photos or buy prints of any of the photos you see, they are up on my portfolio for viewing. To view my best Alameda County Fair photos, use this link. To view all of my Alameda County Fair photos, use this link.

Today I have photos of the Model Railroad Exhibit, a photo from the small animals exhibit, and a few "street photography" type photos. This is the last of my photos from the Alameda County Fair.

Some machinery right outside of the Model Railroad Exhibit.

A few photos of the Model Railroad. It was a very big one!

A model bridge.

It wasn't very bright inside so I was using my Canon Speedlite 600EX-RT. It reflected off the glass a bit.

Lucky for me, there was something to set my camera on so the last 3 shots I did of the Model Railroad turned out really nice as I was able to exposure it longer.

There was some sort of talent show in the fair too. I too a photo of the people watching the performance. My friends and I have been standing/walking and decided to sit down for a rest. I was too tired to walk to the performance stage.

After our little rest, we went to the small animals exhibit. This is a photo of a tarantula. I wanted to get some photos of other animals, but they were too hard to photograph. Plus, I didn't want the owners to scream at me for using my super bright Canon Speedlite 600EX-RT. LOL

A photo near the White Water Ride of the people at the fair.

My last image is of this giant Android inflatable inside one of the buildings at the Verizon booth.

These are all the photos for today and for this chain of posts. I hope you have enjoyed viewing them. Please don't forget to share the blog post with your friends and family members! A video I made talking about Samsung's announcement on the Samsung Galaxy NX.  I do not have a demo unit, so this video is strictly only TALKING about this device. The Samsung Galaxy NX is the word's first mirrorless interchangeable lens camera phone and is built with a pop up flash and a 20.3MP APS-C sensor.

More details on the phone on Samsung's website here.

Google Android Building in Mountain View, CA

I know someone who works at Google and today I am here to share some of the photos I took at the Google Android building. I happened to be in the area several month back right after the Space Shuttle Endeavour Flyover (Photos Here). I have photos of the different figurines and also some of the special figurines they had in the lobby. I also have the before and after of the Android Jellybean figurine on this. The Android building is at Google's Main Headquarters in Mountain View, CA. Really nice work environment!

Full Resolution Photos and Prints: If you want to see full resolution photos or buy prints of any of the photos you see, they are up on my portfolio for viewing here.

Left: Cupcake
Right of Cupcake: Froyo (back), Eclair (front)
Right of those: Gingerbread (left), Ice Cream Sandwich (right)

Android Figurine and a Donut

This was the Android Jellybean figurine before they fixed it. Remember the flaw that caused the figurine to melt under the sun? Yeah... That is why they brought it in before they could get it fixed. It was said some people took some of the jellybeans too. No, they are not edible...

This was some figurine in some movie. Forgot which one.

Not sure what this figurine is for.

The new Android Jellybean figurine.
