Monterey Rock & Rod Festival (21 June 2025) - Cellphone Photos

On the 21st June 2025, my parents and I went to Sand City, CA to see a Ford vehicle at a Ford dealership. Unfortunately once we got there, we found out it was already sold. We headed for Monterey, which was when we came across the ongoing Monterey Rock & Rod Festival at Custom House Plaza. I took photos with my cellphone. I hope you enjoy viewing my photos!

Please note, while I do like seeing vintage vehicles, I am not a vintage vehicle geek, and neither do I know much about it, so the photos aren't going to be labeled in any detail unfortunately.

Message from the Photographer: While I try to post cellphone photos in a timely manner, unfortunately Long COVID is wrecking havoc on my health and energy levels. I have had to stop the experimental medication my doctor gave me due to poor tolerance of the side effects.

Ravenswood Historic Site - Livermore, CA (Cellphone Photos)

On the 22nd December 2024, I visited Ravenswood Historic Site in Livermore, CA. The site is operated by Livermore's Parks & Recreation Department and is open for tours on the 2nd and 4th Sundays each month. The site is also rented out for weddings, parties, and events. I took the tour and took some photos with my cellphone. I hope you enjoy viewing my photos!

Ravenswood was once a summer home and country estate of Christopher A. Buckley. Christopher Buckley was born in 1845 in New York, and moved to San Francisco in 1862. He was a powerful in politics in San Francisco, and was also known as the "Blind Boss" due to a disease which slowly took his vision away. After the Great San Francisco earthquake in 1906 he moved to Ravenswood full time due to his San Francisco house burning down. The country estate was used as a home and as a winery by Mr. Buckley. Later the property was sold to the German Catholic order, and then later on was donated to the City of Livermore.

The tour guide told us at one point the Livermore Fire Department wanted to use the dilapidated house as a practice house for putting out a fire, but someone locally spoke up about it and started publishing stories and the history of the place. It ended up being preserved and restored, and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Message from the Photographer: I normally post cellphone photos on the same day they are taken, but unfortunately long COVID and chronic fatigue syndrome left me bedridden for the past 2 days due to an energy crash.

Forest Home Farms, Memorial Park, and Hidden Valley Park (Cellphone Photos) - San Ramon, CA

Yesterday, on 12 March 2023, my parents and I went to several parks in San Ramon, CA. We went to Forest Home Farms Historic Park and saw a lot of antiques. We also visited Memorial Park and Hidden Valley Park. We wanted to go see yellow mustard flowers, but they don't seem to have bloomed yet. I took photos with my cellphones. I hope you enjoy viewing the photos.

Our first stop was Forest Home Farms Historic Park in San Ramon, CA. The address of the park is at 19953 San Ramon Valley Blvd, San Ramon, CA 94583. I already went twice on week days and the Tractor Museum was closed. It was open on the weekend, so I went in to check out the vintage equipment they have housed in there as well.

After Forest Home Farms Historic Park, my parents and I went to 4 other spots I have scouted out where you might be able to see yellow mustard flower blooms. Unfortunately, I think we were too early. We barely saw any. The next 2 photos were taken at Memorial Park and Hidden Valley Park.

While on the subject of antiques and vintage equipment, look what I found in the attic! These 3 floppy disks 💾 are from my childhood.

I had such a great time taking a trip down memory lane, because recently I got a Dell USB floppy disk drive, so I can read the information out of these things again. 😂 I haven't had a floppy drive on my computer since my old computer broke in 2016 and I replaced it. That was really fun. Yes, I am a bit of a computer geek. 🤓 You can see that I strategically placed 2 of the floppy disks with the label side down. One of those floppy disks contains Pokémon pictures I found on Google when I was a child. 😁 Too embarrassing to show. 😆

Forest Home Farms Historic Park (Cellphone Photos) - San Ramon, CA

Today, on 9 February 2023, my mom and I had to make a Costco run (the Costco Wholesale in Danville, CA to be exact). We had some time to burn today, so before heading to Costco, we visited Forest Home Farms Historic Park in San Ramon, CA, and I had lunch at the newly opened "The Melt" in Danville, CA. I took photos with my cellphone. I hope you enjoy viewing the photos.

Our first stop was Forest Home Farms Historic Park in San Ramon, CA. The address of the park is at 19953 San Ramon Valley Blvd, San Ramon, CA 94583. Since we visited on a week day, none of the historic Victorian home museums were open. There were also some construction taking place at the park. I took a few photos in the areas that were open.

In this photo is a vintage 1938 Ford 1/2 Ton Truck, a scarecrow, and some other vintage farming equipment.

In this photo are some vintage and modern farming equipment.

In this photo is a windmill used to bring water up from a well. The photo was shot at the Glass House Museum in the historic park.

At this point, I was pretty hungry as I haven't had breakfast yet. After Forest Home Farms Historic Park, I went to the newly opened "The Melt" in Danville, CA. The address of "The Melt" is at 43 Railroad Ave, Danville, CA 94526. You are probably wondering, "Didn't you say you were going to Costco? Why did you get lunch elsewhere?". There are a few reasons.
  1. The food at "The Melt" is delicious. 😋
  2. I've been vegetarian since the beginning of 2021 due to religious reasons. Costco Food Court doesn't offer much vegetarian options. There are plenty of vegetarian options available at "The Melt".
  3. "The Melt" tempted me in with a coupon. 😂
I ended up getting an Impossible Spicy Mission Burger and a Garlic Parmesan Fries. Before I went vegetarian, I used to get the regular Spicy Mission Burger at "The Melt" at the Stanford Shopping Center in Stanford, CA when I'm in town.
